Waiting On Wednesday! Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy!

Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy

"What if you’d been living your life as if you were dying—only to find out that you had your whole future ahead of you?

When sixteen-year-old Alice is diagnosed with leukemia, her prognosis is grim. To maximize the time she does have, she vows to spend her final months righting wrongs—however she sees fit. She convinces her friend Harvey, whom she knows has always had feelings for her, to help her with a crazy bucket list that’s as much about revenge (humiliating her ex-boyfriend and getting back at her arch nemesis) as it is about hope (doing something unexpectedly kind for a stranger and reliving some childhood memories). But just when Alice’s scores are settled, she goes into remission.

Now Alice is forced to face the consequences of all that she’s said and done, as well as her true feelings for Harvey. But has she done irreparable damage to the people around her, and to the one person who matters most?

Julie Murphy’s SIDE EFFECTS MAY VARY is a fearless and moving tour de force about love, life, and facing your own mortality."

I've been waiting for this book since the cover was released a while back! This book is very intriguing, especially with that amazing cover! I really enjoy reading books like this. Ever since I read The Perks of being a Wallflower a few years ago, I've been hooked on these realistic, coming-of-age style books. Side Effects May Vary certainly falls under that category, and I cannot wait to read it!

Who knows, maybe I'll get my hands on an ARC. I've tried a few times already, but "you receive not if you ask not" so by golly I'll keep at it!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

    1. I'll be seeing the author at YAKfest this month! *shouts excitedly*

  2. I'm so excited for this book! Those "realistic, coming-of-age style books" you said you were hooked on? Well, those are my favorite types of books! I absolutely love them. :)

    1. Awesome! I fell in love with them a few years ago. It all started with The Perks of being a Wallflower, and then I just HAD to have more! I think what makes these books more emotional (at least for me) is the fact that they're all based on real things. Fictional characters, but real life struggles and issues. And I love it every time one of them breaks my heart.
